Poka-yoke example: Preventing omissions in gap inspections
Realizing mistake-proofing for gap inspection using a gap gauge.
We received a request from an agricultural machinery manufacturer stating, "We would like to implement a gap inspection using a gap gauge in the assembly process of agricultural machinery to prevent omissions (poka-yoke)." In response, we have developed a dedicated tool (hereinafter referred to as the "Gap Checker") that wirelessly transmits a signal when the gap inspection using the gap gauge results in a pass. [Details] - By designing it so that "when the grip part of the Gap Checker is squeezed, the gap gauge is inserted into the gap," it enables detection of whether the gap is within the specified range. - To communicate with the poka-yoke receiver currently used in the customer's production site, we have installed the poka-yoke transmitter TW-800T in a location that does not interfere with work. - The structure allows for the exchange of gap gauges to accommodate gaps of varying thicknesses. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
